We want to give a HUGE shoutout and thank you to Model Parent Organization, Inc. for the schoolwide pizza party and for volunteering to serve every student and staff member! We also want to thank the Senior parents who provided a delicious breakfast to the Class of 2024 on Thursday morning. Model Laboratory Schools has the BEST parents and families, and we appreciate every single one of you!

⚽️🏆 REGION CHAMPIONS! 🏆⚽️ The Varsity Boys Soccer Team recorded a big W Thursday, August 31, as they topped Frankfort in the Championship game of the All A Classic Tournament. It's a great day to be a Patriot! 🥳

We had the BEST first day of school! Our students deserve the best, and that's exactly what Model Laboratory Schools, Eastern Kentucky University, and the EKU Colonels delivered! The morning had a giant inflatable slide, EKU student-athletes cheering students on as they arrived, and a delicious breakfast as soon as they walked through the doors. We appreciate every EKU Colonel who made this day extra special and exciting for our students and their families, including EKU Football, EKU Bands / EKU Marching Colonels, EKU Men's Basketball, EKU Women’s Soccer, EKU Women's Basketball, EKU Beach Volleyball, EKU Cheerleading, EKU Baseball, and EKU Dance Team.

Our week could not have started better than meeting our students and their families! 🥳 We hosted our annual New Family Picnic and Orientation as a big welcome into the Model Family and launched our 6th Grade Academy this week. Students also came to visit teachers and discover new classrooms, and we were so glad to have crowded hallways again!

Model Laboratory could not be successful without the support of our parents, guardians, and families. Congratulations to the Model Laboratory School 2023 Rockstar Award recipient: ANGELA HARDIN! 🌟 🎖Superintendent John Williamson awards this recognition to a faculty or staff member who consistently works hard to serve the Model Family above and beyond, day in and day out, as an exemplar of excellence.

For the 2022-23 school year, Model Laboratory students recorded the highest student achievement yet on Advanced Placement exams with 74.22% of Model students earning qualifying scores on their AP exams for a total of 142 qualifying scores—the highest percentage ever recorded at Model!

Congratulations to the 274 recipients of the Model Laboratory School Spring 2023 Dean’s List! 🎉 To be considered for this distinction, a secondary student must have achieved at least a 3.50 GPA during the semester. With Model’s challenging curriculum, competitive atmosphere, and vibrant tradition of academic excellence, these students have shown hard work pays off!

Model Laboratory School is excited to announce the new Varsity Boys' Basketball Head Coach, Chris Evans! Great Crossing High School Head Assistant, Coach Evans, takes the reins as a former collegiate player with nine years of coaching experience in the 11th and 12th Regions. Evans is also the Director of AAU organization, Kentucky Future Elite, Inc. We welcome Coach Evans and his wife Tabitha into the Model Family!

The Model Lab Library transformed into the West Egg today as Junior English students put on their bowties and pearls for their annual Gatsby party after reading the famous American novel, "The Great Gatsby." Students partied like it was 1925 by showing off their best Charleston and catering their event with classic 1920s recipes. It was an egg-stravagant time, Old Sport! ✨🎉
