I believe that independent reading is a critical part of students’ learning and growth. Students are encouraged to choose books they want to read and are able to discover the pleasure and power of reading. Finding the right book at the right time can light an emotional spark within that motivates students to read more, comprehend more, and read more joyfully. When that happens, a world of possible is opened.
