Academic Team Wins 1st Place

Veterans Day Assemblies Set for This Friday

Model Laboratory School will honor Veterans and Active Duty Military Personnel this Friday.  An assembly for elementary is scheduled at 9:00 am. and middle and high school at 2:00 pm.  All are welcome to attend.

Model Lab School has four students who have received the honor of playing in the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra:  Rishav Aikat, trombone, Shria Holla, cello, Maya Gershtenson, flute and Nathan Richey, clarinet.

Shria Holla Receives Honor

Sixth grader Shria Holla received the honor of being chosen for the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra.  She plays cello.

First Day Successful

Students were excited to load up their backpacks for the first day of school!  EKU Model Lab School started it's 107th year of serving Pre-K - 12th graders and hundreds of EKU students who have experiences here each year.  Our motto is:  "To teach, to learn, to help others teach and learn!"

Ballard Creates Instrument

Fourth grade student Caleb Ballard was inspired by an art class with teacher Denise Discepoli where the students created instruments from recycled material.  With the help of his father and grandfather, he crafted this stringed instrument.  He has yet to give it a name, but it is tuned and ready to play!

Model Student Throws First Pitch for EKU

Isaac Williams, a 10th grade student with special needs at Model, throws out the first pitch at EKU’s baseball game Tuesday, May 14th.

Special Thanks to Mark Pressley, a teaching assistant at Model, for organizing this “once in a lifetime” event for Isaac!!!
