Model Volleyball Coach Named

Anthony Mayer

Model Laboratory School is pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony Mayer as Girls Volleyball coach. Mayer, 44 is a 1992 graduate of North Hardin High School where he lettered in Golf and Soccer. After graduating, Anthony then attended Eastern Kentucky University and graduated with a BA in Environmental Science.  As a student he played on the EKU Club Volleyball team which was ranked 16th nationally.  After his playing career ended he started to focus on coaching where he was a volunteer assistant for Lori Duncan and the EKU Lady Colonels for 4 years. After college, Anthony was entrepreneur for 15 years and now works at UL for the Environment and Sustainability department.

Model Athletic Director Scotty Sutton said “We are very excited to announce Coach Anthony Mayer as the inaugural Coach for our Girls Volleyball program.  He has coached at all levels in sports and has a passion for Volleyball that jumped off the table to our committee. “He came highly recommended and is excited to be the first ever coach of Girls Volleyball at Model Lab School.”

Mayer is married to Jana the Director of Extended Learning at Model Lab School.  They have three children that attend Model. Caleb a junior, Asher a freshman and Matthew will be a 1st grader 

“We are pleased to welcome Anthony as our newest Patriot Coach,” offered John Williamson, superintendent at Model Lab.  “We look forward to Coach Mayer’s leadership and the beginning of Girls’ Volleyball here at Model.”
