Distinguished Alumni, Dr. John Rowlett, Visits Model
Distinguished Model alumni, Dr. John Rowlett returned to the school on April 16th to discuss current programs and future possibilities. He graduated from Model Laboratory School in 1978, with a number of accomplishments to his name, including a state tennis doubles championship title. He has an enduring appreciation for Model and a passion to see it continue to thrive and prepare students well into the future. Dr. Rowlett’s deep roots in Eastern Kentucky University stem from his father, Dr. John D. Rowlett’s 42 years of esteemed service to the University as a professor and vice president.
Dr. Rowlett is currently the Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine for Georgia Emergency Associates, a 50+ physician group, covering six hospitals and two immediate care centers. He also serves as the Medical Director of Advanced Pediatric Specialists. A tribute to his father’s spirit, he remains embedded in the Eastern Kentucky University community, and is committed to helping his alma mater succeed. He is equally dedicated to his global community and his work with the people of Haiti, which is outlined in The Eastern Kentucky University Magazine’s summer 2010 issue.
Dr. Rowlett was accompanied on his visit and subsequent tour of Model by Mr. Dan McBride, Eastern Kentucky University’s Associate Vice President of Development & Alumni Engagement.
