Jungle Book Performance

Come see the great performance of "The Jungle Book" on Thursday, March 1, 7:00 pm, Model Auditorium.  Admission is $3.  The performance is by members of the Middle School Show Biz class.  You will love the music and acting!  A great family treat! 

District Academic Team Winners

Congratulations to the Model Elementary Academic Team who won first place in district competition. The Future Problem Solving team and Quick Recall team placed first.  Several Model students received individual awards.

Model's Eric Yoder Receives Award

Congratulations to Eric Yoder for receiving a bronze medal (highest site score for two years) and qualifying for the AIME test (see!   Eric is the first AIME qualifier at the EKU site in the years of offering the AMC.  Eric is also a National Merit Finalist.

Model District Basketball

Model HS basetball teams take the court tonight in District Competition.  The girls' team plays at 6:00 and the boys' team at 7:30 against Southern.  Come out and support our teams!

Pat's Perks Coffee Shop Opens

Model High School students have opened Pat's Perks serving hot chocolate, tea and coffee before school and at break.  Teachers and staff receive a free cup of their choice on their birthdays.  Students learn entrepenurial and business skills.  The coffee shop has been a big success, and students plan to add freshly baked muffins.

Science Fairs

Fourth and fifth grade students displayed science projects in the library.  Fifth graders were judged by several volunteers and answered many questions about thier projects.  All students are focusing on the scientific method.

Hong Kong Exchange Students Visit Model

Three students and one teacher from Hong Kong visited Model Lab School and Richmond as part of an international exchange program.  The Model students and two Model teachers will go to Hong Kong in just a few weeks.  Many students were involved in meeting those from Hong Kong to share traditions and good times.  In this photo, the students pose in front of the Louisville Slugger M
