Model Third Grade Visits WKYT.

Third graders had a great field trip to learn more about media at WKYT TV in Lexington, KY.

National Achievement

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has honored Hannah Nnoromele as one of the highest scoring program participants in the National Achievement Scholarship Program for academically talented Black American high school students.  The honor is based on her PSAT/NMSQT scores and will make her eligible for a potential scholarship.

8th Grade in New York City

The 8th grade class from Model just returned from an exciting week in New York City.  They toured the Intrepid, visited the 9/11 memorial, attended a Broadway show, and enjoyed many more famous sites.

6th Grade Students Visit Atlanta

Model sixth grade students are on an extended field trip to Chattanooga and Atlanta.  They have visited CNN, the Coke plant, the birthplace of Martin Luther King Jr., and the Civil War Museum.  They have many educational stops on their trip.

5th Grade Students Experience D. C.

Model fifth grade students are visiting Washington D. C.   The trip integrates social studies core content with reading, writing, and cultural studies.  They are having lots of fun, too! 

Science Fair Award!

Stephanie McCormick won second place for her science fair project on Seeing 3-D at the State Fair this weekend.

International Fair

Model parents, students, and community members set up booths for International Fair.  Students were able to learn about cultures all over the world.  They sampled food, watched origami creation, enjoyed international clothing and music, and played a little Canadian hockey.  Entertainment from Model and EKU students recognizing a variety of cultures was also part of the day. 

Art Displayed in Giles Gallery

The following Model students currently have artwork on display in EKU's Giles Gallery for the Annual Bluegrass Regional High School Art Exhibition. The closing reception is this Sundau, 2-4 in the Giles Gallery in the Campbell Building. All are welcome.

Science Students at Work

Bubble-wrap figures from Art Class look on while high school science students clean out the pond in the outdoor classroom.  Other students were preparing garden beds for planting and testing water samples.  Authentic activities are a large part of the science curriculum.
