Singing with Kenny Rogers!

Model students will be performing with Kenny Rogers at the EKU Performing Arts Center on Tuesday night, December 4.  The third and fourth graders selected include:  Miles Burden, Tyler Dedic, Nathan Corder, Victoria Taylor, Morgan Barnes, and Josie Patrick.  Thanks to Mrs. Lippman for coordinating this event.  Come on out and enjoy the show!

NASA International Space Station (ISS) Live Downlink “From the Bluegrass to the Blue Marble: Systems in Space”

Model Laboratory Middle School Gifted and Talented students identified in the areas of Math and Science have been given a very unique opportunity!  On January 11, 2013 EKU/KET will be hosting a live downlink with astronauts currently living on the International Space Station at the Hummel Planetarium.  There will be a variety of other interesting activities going on during this specia

White Receives High Honor

Model Laboratory senior Ray White has been chosen to receive one of the nation’s top honors for a high school student-athlete.

Cross Country Runner Honored

On November 10th, Model High School Girls Cross Country Team competed at the KHSAAState Cross Country Championships at the Kentucky Horse Park.  Senior Hannah Nnoromele was the team’s top runner.

Wheelchair Basketball

Model Elementary students learned about Wheelchair Basketball as part of a program celebrating Disability Awareness as arranged by Mrs. Baum and the EKU Department of Recreation.  Student and teachers enjoyed the demonstration and trying out the wheelchairs.

After School Activities

Fourth and fifth grade students practice academic and musical skills after school with the help of EKU graduate students.

Arts on a Rainy Day

Fourth Grade Students and High School Students representing Leadership Madison County did not let rain dampen their enthusiasm for learning about arts and crafts at the annual Berea Arts and Crafts Fair at Indian Fort Theater.  They enjoyed demonstrations and cultural presentations.

EKU Faculty Invited to Tour Model Thursday

EKU Faculty members are invited to tour Model on Thursday, September 27, to view posters of collaboration with various departments regarding teaching, service and scholarship.  Guided tours begin at the front lobby at 9:00, 11:00 and 1:00.  Come see what Model Lab is all about and how the school can benefit you and your EKU students!
