Future City

Beginning in August, Future City was created as an enrichment class for grades 6-8. Model Middle School students signed up for this course, and were entered into a contest.

Throughout the first semester, three teams of students competed in this national organization to be our school's representative at the state competition. Students were expected to learn the concepts of waste management and city creation, create a virtual city, write a city description, design a slideshow, build a 3D model of the city to scale with working parts, and then present this model to engineers from around the state of Kentucky!

Students went above and beyond, dedicating their additional time and resources to this project!

This was Model's first ever year to compete in Future City, and we are excited to continue this new tradition in the fall of 2016!
